Aylesbury Cat Rescue is a non-profit making, self funding organisation.
The main reason why we are non profit making is because as fast as the money comes in, it goes straight back out again !

Raising funds is a constant struggle. The main providers being Tombolas and Boot Sales, with additional cash coming from Aylesbury Cat Rescue staff, homing cats and donations.

Unlike our wealthier counterparts, The Cats Protection League and the RSPCA, we have no rich patrons, we receive no sponsorship and cannot afford big media advertising.

Occasionally we manage to get a charity market stall which usually nets a greater profit than a boot sale.

We would like to be a registered charity but we have to have a magic figure of £12,000 in the bank which, as you can see, from the chart

above is virtually impossible unless somebody wins the lottery. Don't be fooled by the 5.6% profit that virtually disappears on fund raising !.

We do have some help from business and the local community and we would like to give them a mention here as we are very grateful for their assistance :-

Safeways  - store in Aylesbury has let us put an appeal bin in their foyer for people to put cat food in, this was originally a Christmas appeal but they allowed us to continue indefinitely. The food donated allows us to feed our inmates and also maintain frequent feral sites.

The Cloisters Pet Stall - in Aylesbury frequently donates food and carries one of our charity tins. They also give us discounts on  cat litter and food.

Hampden Vets  - Give us reduced fees for neutering, spaying and other veterinary services, they also have one of our charity tins at their Elm Farm Surgery

Halton Vets - Give us reduced fees for neutering, spaying and other veterinary services.

Unwins off licence - On Elm Farm carries one of our charity tins.

Special Mentions to :-

Vera Sarjeant - Occasionally has an "Open House" and splits the profit between us and Stokenchurch Dog Rescue.

Heather Fountaine - For a regular cash donation and a special thanks for keeping us afloat in Autumn 1999,  when we came very close to shutting down.

Evelyn Stephens - For a constant supply of  Tombola Prizes and excellent home made cuddly toys.

Janet Payne - For a regular cash  donation

J.W. Brown - Also for a regular cash donation

We would also like to say a big thank you to  all the close relatives who have helped us with our work and all the people who donate and continue to donate when we are fund raising.
